About the Journal
1. Aim and Scope
The Interdisciplinary British and American Studies (IBAS) Journal e-ISSN: 3062-1577 is a rigorously double-blind, peer-reviewed, biannual, open-access international academic journal that fosters innovative scholarship in countries with British and American literary traditions. IBAS Journal welcomes submissions from scholars, researchers, and advanced graduate students working across disciplines, including literature, language, culture, and society of Britain and America. We are particularly interested in any kind of scholarly work from the Medieval Age to the present day. Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding of Britain and America through research conducted in a global context, including those from non-anglophone countries.
2. Publication Frequency
IBAS Journal is published biannually, with issues released in June and December of each year.
3. Peer Review Policy
IBAS Journal employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and objectivity of published scholarship.
We are committed to providing a timely and efficient review process for all submitted manuscripts. Authors can expect the following average timeframes:

Preliminary Assessment: The initial editorial assessment of manuscripts, including a check for scope and adherence to submission guidelines, typically takes 20 days from the date of submission.

Peer Review Process: Following preliminary assessment, manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process, which on average is completed within 60 days.

Publication Timeline: From initial submission to final publication, the average time for an article to appear in an issue is approximately 90 days.
Please note that these are average timelines, and actual durations may vary depending on factors such as reviewer availability, the need for revisions, and the volume of submissions. We strive to communicate promptly with authors throughout each stage of the publishing process.
4. Open-Access Policy
Interdisciplinary British and American Studies Journal adopts the open-access policy.
5. Publication Cost
Publishing in the Interdisciplinary British and American Studies Journal requires no article processing charges (APC) or other publication fees (e.g. article submission charges). Publishing is free of cost.
6. Archiving Policy
This journal subscribes LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archival system based at Stanford University Libraries, United Kingdom, through PKP Private LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Network program.
7. Repository Policy
Interdisciplinary British and American Studies Journal is committed to open access and the dissemination of research. To support these goals, all articles published in the IBAS Journal are deposited in Zenodo, a free and open-access repository hosted by CERN.

8. Generative AI Policy

At IBAS Journal, we embrace technological advancements while upholding the highest standards of scientific integrity and transparency. This policy outlines our guidelines for authors regarding the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process.
This guidance applies specifically to the writing of your manuscript, not to the use of AI tools for data analysis or drawing insights as part of your research.
Declaration of Generative AI Use:
If you use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the writing of your manuscript, you must declare this upon submission. This declaration will be published with your article.
Please add a new section before your References list at the end of your manuscript, titled:
Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted Technologies in the Writing Process:
Within this section, include a statement following this example:
"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON, e.g., improve readability, refine language]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the published article."

Generative AI and Peer Review Policy (For Reviewers & Editors):
To protect authors’ rights and the confidentiality of their research, IBAS Journal currently does not allow the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies (such as ChatGPT or similar services) by reviewers or editors in the peer review and manuscript evaluation process. We are actively evaluating compliant AI tools and may revise this policy in the future.
9. Content Disclaimer
Interdisciplinary British and American Studies Journal publishes scholarly work solely based on its merit and does not endorse the specific views expressed by the authors.
While rigorous peer review, including plagiarism checks, is conducted, the journal cannot be held responsible for any instances of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, that may occur after publication. Authors are solely responsible for the originality and ethical conduct of their work and warrant that the manuscript is original. The journal reserves the right to retract articles in cases of confirmed plagiarism.

11. No-Tolerance for Plagiarism
IBAS journal maintains a strict no-tolerance policy for plagiarism in all its forms. Plagiarism, including but not limited to copying text, ideas, or data without proper attribution, is considered a serious ethical violation. To ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts, we utilize advanced plagiarism detection tools like iThenticate and İntihal.net.
